Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about PaySlice and our cash advance services.
Getting Started
What is PaySlice and how does it work?
PaySlice is a financial technology company that provides small-dollar, short-term cash advances to eligible users. We analyze your bank transaction data to assess eligibility and determine advance amounts. Advances are designed to help bridge cash flow between pay cycles, not to serve as long-term financing. You can request an advance through our app or website, and if approved, funds are delivered to your linked bank account via ACH (free, 2-3 business days) or instant payout to an eligible debit card (with a fee).
Who is eligible to use PaySlice?
To be eligible for PaySlice, you must: (1) be at least 18 years old, (2) reside in the United States and access the Services while physically located in an Eligible State (currently Florida and Texas), (3) maintain a verifiable U.S. checking account in your name, (4) have a recurring qualifying income stream we can validate from transaction history, and (5) pass identity, fraud, sanctions, and other compliance checks. Business, prepaid, or paycard-only accounts may be ineligible. We allow one account per person.
How do I sign up for PaySlice?
To sign up, download our app or visit our website and create an account. You'll need to provide basic information and link your bank account securely through our third-party provider. We'll verify your identity and analyze your transaction history to determine your eligibility and advance limits. The signup process typically takes just a few minutes.
Do you check my credit score?
No, PaySlice does not perform hard credit pulls or check your credit score. We evaluate eligibility based on your bank transaction data, income patterns, and other factors. We do not report advances to consumer reporting agencies, and your use of PaySlice will not affect your credit score.
Fees & Payments
What fees does PaySlice charge?
PaySlice charges a recurring monthly membership fee after a 7-day free trial. The membership fee begins on the 8th day unless you cancel before the trial ends. We also offer optional instant payout to eligible debit cards or accounts for a separate instant payout fee that is clearly disclosed before you confirm. Standard ACH delivery is always free but takes 2-3 business days. We do not charge interest, late fees, or non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees. All fees are disclosed at signup and in your account.
How does the free trial work?
When you sign up, you receive a 7-day free trial. During this trial period, you can use PaySlice services without being charged the membership fee. If you cancel before the trial ends (via the app or by contacting support), you will not be charged. If you continue using the service after the trial, the membership fee will begin on the 8th day and recur monthly on the same calendar day until you cancel.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time through the app or by contacting support. Cancellation stops future membership fee charges, but it does not retroactively refund prior charges unless required by law. If you cancel during the 7-day free trial, you will not be charged the membership fee.
What is the instant payout fee?
If you choose instant payout to an eligible debit card or account, you'll pay a separate instant payout fee that is clearly disclosed before you confirm your request. Instant payout is optional and not required to obtain an advance. We always present a free delivery option (standard ACH) before you complete your request. Instant payout transactions are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or in cases of processing errors.
Cash Advances
How do I get a cash advance?
Once your account is set up and you're eligible, you can request a cash advance through the PaySlice app or website. The amount available to you is determined by our proprietary risk models based on your bank transaction data, income patterns, and other factors. After requesting an advance, you can choose standard ACH delivery (free, 2-3 business days) or instant payout (fee applies, immediate). Advances are not guaranteed, and we may decline requests based on risk or compliance factors.
How much can I advance?
Advance amounts vary based on your eligibility, income patterns, bank transaction history, and our risk assessment. There is no fixed limit, and availability, amounts, frequency, and timing are determined at our sole discretion. Past availability of advances does not guarantee future availability. Advances are intended for short-term cash flow needs, not long-term financing.
How do I repay an advance?
When you receive an advance, you authorize PaySlice to automatically debit your linked bank account on or after your next identified payday. The amount debited includes the advance amount, any applicable membership fees, instant payout fees, and other disclosed charges. You can reschedule repayment once per advance within the app before we initiate the debit, but you must do so at least three business days before the scheduled debit date. You can also exercise stop-payment rights with your bank if needed.
What happens if I don't have enough funds for repayment?
If a debit is returned due to insufficient funds, we may attempt permitted re-debits consistent with your authorization and payment network rules (e.g., NACHA). We do not charge NSF fees or late fees. However, your bank may charge its own overdraft or return fees, which you are responsible for resolving directly with your bank. After returned debits or excessive reschedules, we may limit, delay, or suspend future advances. It's important to maintain sufficient funds to satisfy scheduled repayments.
Are advances guaranteed?
No, advances are not guaranteed. Availability, amounts, frequency, and timing are determined at our sole discretion using proprietary risk models, eligibility criteria, and compliance checks. We may decline any advance request or set or adjust limits at any time for risk or compliance reasons. Past availability does not guarantee future availability.
Account & Security
How secure is my bank information?
PaySlice takes security seriously. We use industry-standard encryption and work with trusted third-party providers to securely connect and access your bank account information. Your bank credentials are never stored by PaySlice—they are handled securely by our account-linking provider (such as Plaid). We only access read-only transaction data necessary to assess eligibility and determine advance amounts. You can revoke access at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.
What information do you access from my bank account?
We access information such as account balances, transaction history, and account identifiers to verify your identity, assess eligibility, determine advance amounts, and service your account. This is read-only access, and we cannot move money from your account without your explicit authorization for repayment. Your use of third-party account-linking services is subject to their terms and privacy policies.
Can I link multiple bank accounts?
Currently, PaySlice requires one account per person. You should link the checking account where you receive your income and where you want advances deposited. If you need to change your linked account, you can do so through your account settings or by contacting support.
What if I suspect unauthorized activity on my account?
If you believe an unauthorized transfer occurred or that an error exists related to a transfer we processed, notify us immediately using the contact methods in the app or by emailing support@payslice.com. We will investigate and resolve the issue in accordance with applicable law (including Regulation E) and provide you written results. Where required, we will provisionally credit your account during our investigation.
States & Availability
Which states is PaySlice available in?
PaySlice is currently available only in Florida and Texas. We may add or remove eligible states from time to time by updating our Terms of Service or specific state notices. We use geolocation and other signals to verify that you are accessing the Services from an Eligible State and may block transactions if you appear to be outside an Eligible State.
Will PaySlice be available in my state soon?
We are working to expand availability to additional states. To stay updated on when PaySlice becomes available in your state, you can join our waitlist or subscribe to updates through our website. State-specific requirements and regulations may affect when and how we can offer services in your area.
Do the terms vary by state?
Some states may require variations to our terms or additional disclosures. State-specific notices are posted in-app or on our legal page and are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. If a state notice conflicts with our general Terms, the state notice controls for users in that state. We provide any required disclosures and obtain required consents in the manner and timing the law requires.
General
Is PaySlice a bank?
No, PaySlice is not a bank. We are a financial technology company. To the extent banking features are offered, they are provided by one or more third-party financial institutions (Partner Banks). Funds held in accounts at a Partner Bank may be eligible for FDIC insurance at that institution. Advances are not deposits and are not FDIC-insured. We do not receive, hold, or transmit funds on behalf of third parties. Advances are funded from our own or our partners' funds and are repaid by your preauthorized debit from your linked account.
Does PaySlice require wage assignment?
No, PaySlice does not require any assignment of wages, and advances are not conditioned on continued employment with any particular employer. We do not seek repayment directly from your employer. Repayment is made through automatic debit from your linked bank account on or after your scheduled payday.
How do I contact PaySlice support?
You can contact PaySlice support by emailing support@payslice.com or through the contact methods available in the app. For questions about transactions, account issues, or general inquiries, our support team is available to help. If you are a resident of Texas or Florida, you may also have additional rights to disclosures and complaints under your state's laws.
Where can I find more information about PaySlice's policies?
You can find detailed information about our policies, terms, and practices in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are available on our website. These documents explain how we collect, use, and protect your information, as well as the terms and conditions of using PaySlice services.
Can I use PaySlice if I receive government benefits?
If you receive recurring income that deposits to a U.S. checking account, including government benefits such as Social Security or VA benefits, you may be eligible for PaySlice advances, provided you meet all other eligibility requirements. We evaluate eligibility based on your transaction history and income patterns, not the source of your income.
